This song was written in response to the designating of Rigaer Straße as a "Dangerzone" by the Interior Minister for Justice in 2016/ 2017 Frank Henkel.
The subsequent oppression of the left wing autonomous residents in Rigaer 94 and other places along the Rigaer Street was unlawful and unprecedented.
Illegal evictions, illegal entry and brute force by the police were all ingredients of around two years of terror by the state - which only ended by a court ruling that deemed the evictions unlawful.
The police at this time were like thugs in uniform, putting glass in the beds at 94, pissing on the floor, graffitting the walls.
At Rigaer 78 they smashed through the window and arrested 16 people for no reason.
Stopping and searching anyone and everyone in the area, in searches that lasted up to one hour.
It represented the gentrification system that was (still is) happening all over Berlin - investors and state working together to bring money into the city through development. ie. Corruption.
Fuck gentrification! ACAB!
lyrics
The grumble and splutter, police trucks on our streets,
A constant reminder of this prison we live,
The only thing dangerous here are the police,
Provoking in silence, waiting to attack!
Just Politics of the faceless, try to get back in,
What a farce of democracy, using fear as your game,
police as your foot soldiers, intimidate,
deflecting attention from the real problems we face
Pre Chorus
Burn, burn, burn Berlin
your forced evictions, we meet with fire!
Burn, burn, burn Berlin
this police action, will drain your own system!
Chorus
Fuck your order, your system, conformity
we bring chaos, disorder and anarchy (x3)
The media, they follow, through cowardice,
The mouthpiece, of politics, spreading their lies,
Naming and shaming, to demonise,
Its this social hatred, that destroys!
Pre Chorus
We re gonna burn, burn, burn Berlin
your forced evictions, we meet with fire!
Burn, burn, burn Berlin
this police action, will drain your own system!
Chorus
Fuck your order, your system, conformity
we bring chaos, disorder and anarchy (x3)
